I am currently based between Hong Kong and Singapore, working across higher education and the arts.
My work centres on cinema and other screen cultures, with a particular interest in the infrastructures through which art and media are produced, circulated, and experienced. I examine how material, institutional, and technological conditions shape what becomes visible, accessible, and consumable, as well as the forms of attention, encounter, and affect that emerge around moving images.
In 2021, I founded Singapore Film Database (SGFilmDB), a digital resource documenting feature films made in / made with Singapore from 1965 to the present. The platform also maps the wider film ecology through listings of funding opportunities, organisations, and creative spaces that support filmmaking in Singapore.
